Decade back, I was managing an email marketing campaign and was bored seeing 5% open rates.
One fine day, I changed the subjectline to
“Monisha liked you… wants you to join the program!”
and found 28-33+% open rates.
Hurray, I cracked it! But do you think it lasted forever? I was able to bring results from Monisha only for few weeks. After that I changed to Priya and do you know what happen, my IP was blocked. Ha ha!!
While the open rate was awesome, the conversion rates were pathetic, and the strategy caused trouble for my sales team as well. OMG I never started subjectline with names again…
“Lesson learnt do not fake content or create fake anxiety to your audience.” They will get annoyed soon and you will lose your glory….
New age influencers, content creators, linkedin top voices – It will be nice and can bring you good results initially if you post selfies, gym pics, ask for recommendations, etc on every post. It is important to realize, however, that such posts are spoiling the LinkedIn ecosystem. And you will not notice that you becoming less creative and more addicted to likes.
Change your strategy frequently and believe me the virals would not work forever. Trust yourself and be a creator rather than trusting AI tool 100%. I’m just saying keep it in limits, that’s all.
People get bored looking at your selfies and faked personal growth everyday. We all know life is not so easy to be so successful and people struggle to make every penny. They may like to find real inspirations and you better be worth it.
Rule of marketing is to never showcase your failures. Never.
At the same time not every marketing piece is unreal. Be mild and meek with your exaggerations.
Believe me, there are people who are brave to bring the truth out… Don’t get too loud you will be called. Trust me, none of fancy strategies will work for long, so get creative. Don’t stop being creativity.

Be bothered about FB that influenced our politics/votes, LinkedIn becoming a dating platform, and Tinder for biz leads. Influencers will lead this race in this and can change the persona of the community and the purpose of portal itself.
Just go with the flow!! Slowdown…
